"Chad Mackey is a bit of a surprise if you've never heard him before... [he] sings these bubbly feel-good tunes that would provide the perfect soundtrack for peddling a beach cruiser along the surf," says Mountain Xpress.

2010 Carolina Music Awards nominee, Chad Mackey's music is best described as "feel good" acoustic/rock/country with summertime grooves. The 25 year old singer/songwriter hails from the artsy town of Asheville, NC.

Since beginning his journey with songwriting at the age of 15 and picking up the guitar at 17, fans have been drawn to Mackey's music by his catchy "feel good" melodies, and honest lyrics, which are inspired from everyday life, personal experiences, and love.

Mackey is "building a name for himself in the regional coffeehouse and club scene," says Take 5 of the Asheville Citizen Times' entertainment section. He can be seen playing various types of shows, from intimate acoustic shows in cafes to energetic full band shows in clubs and festivals. His live full band shows have been hosted in well known venues such as Charlotte, NC's Visulite Theatre, Amos' Southend, The Evening Muse, Tremont Music Hall, as well as the famous Orange Peel in Asheville, NC which was voted as one of the top five rock clubs by Rolling Stone magazine.

In June 2010, Mackey released a brand new full length studio album entitled "If The World Is Listening...", which has since received positive reviews with stand-out songs like “Smile”, “Grateful” and “Sun In Windows”.

"I know it sounds like a big title for someone in a small town like Asheville, but I when I started this record, I ask ed myself. 'If the world is listening, what would I want to say?'", Mackey said. His new album is a follow up to his 2008 “Chad Mackey Band” album, which features popular favorites like "Sing Something", "Good Things", and "Lindsay Jean".

On January 17, 2012, Mackey released a new  country/pop single called “God Proved Me Wrong” which is already gaining attention faster than any other song Mackey has released.  “I truly believe in this song, and just want as many ears as possible to hear it. I think a lot of people can relate to it.”

Always having optimism in mind, Mackey's music gives fans a blend of laid-back island vibes, country-rock grooves, and happy love songs.
